Ken Ackeret, P.E., PTOE, Ph.D.

Throughout his 35-year career, Dr. Ken Ackeret, P.E., PTOE has developed a wealth of applied and academic knowledge in civil and transportation engineering. His extensive planning, creative design, and leadership within transportation engineering and site development has made Dr. Ackeret one of the most respected civil engineering professionals in the Southwest. He is an active member of the professional transportation community and has served in numerous leadership positions within the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Dr. Ackeret has also been devoted to fostering the growth of the next generation of ITE professionals while expanding the knowledge of ITE practices and methodologies.

As a senior leader for Kimley-Horn, Dr. Ackeret has been responsible for concept planning, design, specifications, bid documents, cost estimates, and construction supervision on a wide variety of transportation engineering projects across the U.S. He has extensive experience taking projects from conception through construction, as demonstrated by his broad project responsibilities including the transportation and civil engineering for major hotel and casinos, retail developments, master plan communities, and arterial street projects. As a resident of Nevada since 1978, he understands the multiple modes of transportation needed to move Nevada and the unique challenges of the Gaming Industry.
